'That They May Have Life’: Celebrating 30 Years of Evangelium Vitae

The de Nicola Center for Ethics and Culture at the University of Notre Dame presents a roundtable discussion, “‘That They May Have Life’: Celebrating 30 Years of Evangelium Vitae,” commemorating the 30th anniversary of Pope St. John Paul II's encyclical on the dignity of human life. Distinguished speakers Helen Alvaré (Antonin Scalia Law School, George Mason University), Richard Doerflinger (de Nicola Center for Ethics and Culture), and Sr. Virginia Joy, S.V. (Sisters of Life), will consider the history and promulgation of Evangelium Vitae, its relevance to our current moment, and how we might continue to receive and respond to its call to proclaim a gospel of life in the 21st century.
