Panel: The Ethics of Precision Medicine

dCEC Mission Fellow Paul Scherz’s The Ethics of Precision Medicine: The Problems of Prevention in Healthcare explores the rapid growth in the use of genetic information and data analytics in healthcare to predict health risks. These new technologies of precision medicine are driving a new paradigm of medicine that understands healthcare in terms of risk reduction and patients in relation to populations. Join us as three scholars respond to the book’s arguments and their ethical and theological implications for patients and healthcare practitioners.
This panel discussion will feature the author in conversation with Christopher Kaczor (Loyola Marymount University, 2024–25 dCEC Visiting Scholar), Mary Hirschfeld (Notre Dame), and Christopher Tollefsen (University of South Carolina, 2024–25 dCEC Visiting Scholar).
Reception to follow. No RSVP required.
