Archbishop Anthony Fisher, OP (Archdiocese of Sydney), will offer a reflection on "Newman and the Religion of the Future and the Future of the Academy," exploring how Catholic institutions of higher education play a crucial role in bringing forth Newman’s understanding of Christianity as the religion of the future. A reception will follow in the Eck Commons.

Archbishop Fisher has led the Archdiocese of Sydney since his appointment in 2014. He holds a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Sydney, a PhD in bioethics from Oxford, and has published extensively in bioethics, moral theology, history, law, and spirituality, including (most recently) Catholic Bioethics for a New Millennium (Cambridge University Press, 2012); War and Terror, Peace and Hope (St Paul’s, 2018); and My Dear Young Friend: Letters on Youth, Faith and Future (St Paul’s, 2018).
