Every semester since Spring 2009, the Center has hosted the Bread of Life dinner discussions. The event is designed to provide an opportunity for Notre Dame undergraduates and faculty to meet, reflect on, and discuss their attitudes toward beginning-of-life issues. Bread of Life is especially meant to attract students who might not already be strongly committed to the Church’s teachings on these issues but who are open to exploring them. The format for the evening is a brief fifteen-minute reflection offered by a professor on a topic related to beginning-of-life ethical issues. Following the reflection, professors, university staff, and students discuss the issue together and reflect on their own attitudes toward life issues over dinner. All participants receive a copy of Evangelium Vitae, Pope John Paul II's encyclical on the Gospel of Life.

Rev. Kevin Grove, C.S.C., is an assistant professor of theology at the University of Notre Dame and a Holy Cross priest. He was ordained in 2010. After a year in parish ministry in South Bend, Father Kevin went to the University of Cambridge in England to pursue graduate studies in philosophical theology at Trinity College. He also worked as assistant chaplain to the Catholic community at Cambridge at St. John Fisher House. He completed his Ph.D. in 2015 and continued his research as a post-doctoral research fellow at the Catholic University of Paris, France. Father Kevin’s research interests include Christology, memory, the thought of St. Augustine, and the spiritual and theological writings of Blessed Basil Moreau. He lives in Dunne Hall.
