The Notre Dame Center for Ethics and Culture presents:

The Mary Ann Remick
Senior Visiting Fellowship

Mary Ann Remick, the benefactor of this Fellowship, is one of the most devoted and generous friends of The Notre Dame Center for Ethics and Culture. We are pleased that her wish to sponsor at the Center a distinguished senior fellow for a year of full-time research and writing on ethical issues related to the Catholic moral and intellectual tradition has come to fruition. The inaugural Mary Ann Remick Senior Visiting Fellow for 2006-2007 is Ralph Wood.

We are pleased to begin accepting applications for the next Remick Fellowship.   The term of the fellowship is one academic year, to begin in August 2007, although special arrangements may be made to take the fellowship in the calendar year, beginning in January 2008. Fellows must be in residence for two consecutive semesters and engage in a well-defined research project on ethical issues related to the Catholic moral and intellectual tradition. The Center will provide half of the fellow's current salary, up to $40,000, and will expect the fellow's home institution to provide the remainder. Fellows are expected to participate fully in the life and activities of the Center, and will be given full access to the University of Notre Dame's research and recreational facilities.

Applicants must submit a cover letter of introduction, a curriculum vitae, a research proposal, and the names and contact information of three references. The research proposal should not exceed ten double-spaced, typewritten pages and should outline the research project and its scholarly signifiance as well as its contribution to the mission of the Center. Details regarding the Center's mission should be closely consulted here.

The deadline for application for the Fellowship is January 15, 2007, and the fellowship winner will be notified no later than February 15, 2007. Applications may be submitted either by post or electronically. Applications or inquiries submitted by post should be addressed to:
