    An Evening of Angelus at Notre Dame 2008

    A free screening of four short, award-winning films produced, written, and directed by students. A Q&A with the filmmakers will follow the screening. Family Theater Productions created the Angelus Awards in 1996 to showcase and award emerging filmmakers and encourage them to continue creating visionary projects that honor the fundamental dignity of the human person.

Catch Elizabeth Kirk, Associate Director of the Notre Dame Center for Ethics and Culture, on ETWN's Faith and Culture Sunday, August 24 at 10:30 a.m. (Eastern) in the final episode of a four-part series on the 20th anniversary of Pope John Paul II's apostolic letter, Mulieris Dignitatem (On the Diginity and Vocation of Women). An Evening of Angelus at Notre Dame

On May 1, 2008, in the Browning Cinema in the DeBartolo Performing Arts Center, the Center for Ethics and Culture hosted some of the winning student filmmakers from the Angelus Awards Student Film Festival (sponsored by Family Theater Production in Hollywood). The evening began with a screening of the award-winning short films (lasting about an hour), followed by a Q&A with the directors moderated by the director of the Angelus Awards, Monika Moreno.

23rd Annual Notre Dame Medical Ethics Conference

The 23rd annual Notre Dame Medical Ethics Conference that took place March 14-16 included a meeting of medical and nursing students from around the country. These students met to discuss their formation in their vocations as health care professionals. Participants of the conference and friends of the Center are invited to contribute their reflections and ideas for the development of organizational tools and resources to aid the formation of the next generation of health care professionals. Reflections and ideas may be sent to medstudentforum@gmail.com.

Welcome to 2007-08 Fellows!

We proudly announce the 2007-08 holders of our two visiting fellowships: the Myser Fellowship, and the Mary Ann Remick Senior Visiting Fellowship. The fellowship winners are Rev. Michael Sherwin, O.P., the French Language Chair in Fundamental Moral Theology at the University of Fribourg in Switzerland, who will hold the Myser Fellowship, and Professor Ralph Wood, University Professor of Theology and Literature at Baylor University, who will hold the Remick Fellowship.  The Center is justly proud of its 2007-08 visiting fellows. Their research and writing will not only enrich the scholarship in their respective fields, but their presence at the Center will no doubt also enrich the Notre Dame community.
